Apprenticeships at FIMA are comprehensive and varied, regardless of whether they are in the commercial or technical field. We are offering the following apprenticeships for 2024:

Theory meets practice: integrated degree programmes as a practically based alternative

Cooperations 

Together with the cooperative universities, DHBW Mosbach and DHBW Mannheim, FIMA Maschinenbau GmbH offers integrated degree programmes that combine on-the-job training with theoretical university-based study.

A good Abitur or advanced technical certificate is the requirement for obtaining a study place.

Timeline

The programme begins every year in October, and lasts three years, with a regular alternation between practical and theory blocks.

Financial independence

As a student of the cooperative university, from the first day onwards, you are financially independent for the duration of your studies as an employee.

Varied intensive degree programme 

The three-year degree programme is both versatile and varied with a regular alternation between theoretical and practical blocks every three months.

Lecturers with current know-how

Professors of the Baden-Württemberg cooperative university, lecturers from other universities and specially qualified experts from the corporate world teach subject matter from their respective special field.

Small study groups 

Study groups rarely exceed 30 students so intensive support is guaranteed.

Internship

Are you keen to try out in practice what you have learned? An internship at FIMA offers you the best opportunity to do so, because you will be involved in ongoing projects. FIMA offers varied work placements in all technical and commercial business units.

If you’d like to gain practical experience and familiarise yourself with the daily routine in a company while you study, then you are welcome to apply to us as a student employee.

Are you interested in completing a thesis?

Writing your thesis at FIMA calls for engagement with new fields of knowledge and requires a high degree of personal motivation and commitment. Our specialist employees will provide support while you prepare your thesis and assist you with any questions and problems. So far, experience has shown that the results of the theses are extremely advantageous for both students and FIMA, and yield valuable insights for various business units.

Do you have an idea for the subject of your thesis or are you still looking for a suitable topic? In general, you can write your thesis in all business units, both in the technical and commercial sectors.

Fair opportunities

The following rules are prioritised:

  • full-time jobs are not replaced by trainees, volunteers, guest students or long-term temporary staff.
  • Graduates who have applied for a specific job are not consoled with a work placement. 
  • Trainees are not recruited with the vague prospect of subsequently being taken on full-time.
  • Work placements are primarily offered during training to help students decide on the course of their future careers.
  • Trainees are remunerated commensurately for their work.
